Glass Ceiling: Existing Position and Future Directions

Glass ceiling is viewed as an invisible barrier that prevents women to occupy higher positions in organizations. The paper is an attempt to review the literature dealing with Glass Ceiling and its effect on women, its current status, and the future direction the researchers should look into. Secondary data collected from various national and international journals, book chapters, published reports, and the internet, have been analyzed and the gaps in previous studies are identified to determine the need for the future research work.
