Design and Simulation of Converters for HEV

The availability of petroleum capitals has dwindled, leaving more room for vehicle uses, particularly in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). In order to achieve a better driving range and the best engine power, many DC-DC converters are employed in automotive applications. Basic converter design is critical and serves as the foundation for controllers like PI controllers, Fuzzy controllers, and so on. With the help of the PI closed loop, this study proposes a performance comparison of the CUK converter and improved converter to the present Boost converter. The results of the simulations were compared and analyzed. The Toyota Prius was chosen as the study's base model. Hopefully, this will provide a tiny boost to the electric vehicle market.
