Simulation study of FLC based MPPT for unshaded and partially shaded PV system

Solar energy is a repetitive natural flow, passing through the environment. PV panels intercept this energy and convert into electrical energy. Renewable energy supplies can provide a satisfactory standard of living and remain sustainable in the future only if technical methods exist to extract and use it efficiently. Maximum power point tracking plays a vital role in harnessing solar energy. In this work soft computing MPPT technique based on fuzzy logic is proposed which has shown gains in efficiency compared to conventional methods. Computational performance of conventional and fuzzy logic based methods of MPPT for both uniform and shaded irradiation cases are compared. This work brings out the advantages of maximum power point tracking using fuzzy logic technique under shaded conditions.
