Smart Bucket/Domestic Water Regulation using Internet of Things

Water is a precious natural resource available for all the living beings on earth. We, humans need to keep a check on the domestic water usage and need to regulate the water wastage. Overflowing of buckets and tanks is one of the major concerns happening in homes, which leads to enormous quantity of water wastage. Apart from this, unattended water spillovers from the buckets are also liable for domestic water wastage. An IoT design is proposed using ultrasonic sensor and NodeMCU (Node and Micro-Controller Unit) module that can regulate the flow in the buckets used by differently abled persons, kids and elderly persons by whom the spillover chances are more. This system will monitor the water levels of the bucket, when the water level reaches the verge of the bucket; the tap automatically turns off through a relay. The tap can be turned off through an android mobile application at the desired levels. Regulating the water level from a distance is worthwhile when the person’s movement is limited by destined factors.
