Mode-dependent Gain Reduction in Coupled Multi-core EDF with Smaller Core Pitch

We discuss the reduction in mode-dependent gain (MDG) in coupled-multi-core erbium-doped fiber (C-MC-EDF) with smaller core pitch by optimizing the bending radius. Our results indicate the possibility of C-MC-EDFA with both low power consumption and MDG.
