Stripping-Free Direct Fiber Insertion Connectors Using Thin-Coated Optical Fibers

Single-mode fiber connectors are demonstrated with 125 μm diameter thin-coated fibers directly inserted into connector ferrules. Low insertion loss of less than 0.3 dB is achieved due to the high concentricity of the coating. © 2022 The Author(s)
