Research of Diesel Structure-Borne Noise Using Modern Modeling Methods

The use of modern information technologies for modeling the of noise of an internal combustion engine makes it possible to expand the range of obtained results, which improves the quality of work on the study and reduction of engine noise and vibrations. The article presents a methodology for modeling the structure-borne noise of diesel working process in the AVL EXCITE complex. The calculation of the sound power of the 4-cylinder diesel engine (D=11 cm, S= 12.5 cm) for the full load characteristic is performed. mode, the difference between it is 0.7…2 dB. Thus, the use of the AVL EXCITE complex increased the accuracy of calculations of the structure-borne noise of tested 4-cylinder diesel. The contribution of individual external surfaces of engine body parts to the overall sound power level was evaluated. It was found that the cylinder block makes the greatest contribution.
