The Concept of Highly Automated Vehicles Safety Monitoring in Operation Using Virtual Testing Procedures

This article formulates the main problems of development and implementation of highly automated and autonomous vehicles in the road transport infrastructure. Perspective approaches to ensure security are considered and the advantages of their application are substantiated. A scheme has been developed for predicting and ensuring a given level of safety for highly automated vehicles. The advantages and prospects of using virtual tests both at the development stage and throughout the life cycle of highly automated and autonomous vehicles are substantiated in order to monitor their safety. Siemens Prescan software is given as a test simulation tool, its functions are considered. In addition, companion programs are described that can be collectively used to monitor the safety of highly automated vehicles, autonomous vehicles in service using virtual testing.
