Control of the Fuel-Air Mixture of Propane-Butane with Throttle Regulation by Flow Simulation in the FlowVision Software Package

The article analyzes the effect of holes and gas supply pressure on the excess air coefficient. A simulation of the gas mixing process was carried out in order to control the pressure using the car's ECU. Propane-butane was chosen as the studied fuel and an alternative to gasoline. Production of it will increase as a motor fuel. Modeling was carried out in the FlowVision software package in order to ensure the optimal composition of the mixture in various modes. The package makes it possible to calculate the mass fraction of propane-butane. The main reference positions of the throttle valve were selected: φ

=100, 75, 50, 25%. The gas supply pressure values were obtained to ensure optimal α=1 in these positions, corresponding to the operating conditions of the exhaust gas converter. An algorithm for regulating gas pressure from the throttle position was also derived. The influence of the incoming air temperature on the mass fraction of propane-butane was studied, and an algorithm for controlling pressure depending on temperature was developed.
