High-energy broad-band regenerative amplifier for chirped-pulse amplification

We report on the design and performance of a high-energy large-mode regenerative amplifier for chirped-pulse amplification. Output energy up to 90 mJ and slope efficiency of 37% are demonstrated. A one-amplifier terawatt laser is feasible on the basis of this design.
