Study of some passive solutions integrated to a residential building using multi-objective optimization

Over the last decades, the energy consumption in buildings continues to increase as a result of an increasing number of air-conditioning units. Our objective is to achieve a significant cooling load reduction in a residential building located in a semi-arid climate, specifically in Benguerir city (Morocco). The optimization process was initiated by performing a multi- objective optimization using DesignBuilder software. Subsequently, a study of different improvement scenarios with the help of the same software was carried out. The final results indicated that the thermal loads could be reduced by approximately 90 kWh/m
