A Titanium Oxy-phosphate Na4TiO(PO4)2 as High-performance Electrode Material for Sodium-ion Batteries

The Na
4
TiO(PO
4
)
2
/C composite sodium-ion battery anode material has been prepared by a facile sol-gel route . In order to investigate the structural and electrochemical performances of the prepared material, different characterization methods were investigated. From the X-Ray Diffraction, the prepared negative electrode showed its ability to form impurity- free nanoparticles, which are crystallized at the space group P2/c. In addition, galvanostatic cycling tests have revealed that the Na
4
TiO(PO
4
)
2
/C can deliver an initial discharge capacity of 160 mAh/g at a current rate of 25mA/g, with excellent cycling stability after 20 cycles (99 %), and high reversibility.
