A Miniaturized Defected Ground Patch Antenna for ITS 5G-V2x-C Applications

A Miniaturized Mid-Square Slot Ground Patch Antenna (MSSG) for IEEE p 802.11 & ITU-R M.2445-0 standard application has been designed using ANSYS Electromagnetic suite version 21 and the parameters are discussed in this letter. The proposed MSSG Patch antenna (ITS-5G V2x-C) is

in dimension and it is printed on FR4 epoxy material with dielectric of 4.4. The presented antenna is made to resonate exactly in 5.91GHz by achieving a loss of - 42dB with an overall system gain of 6 dB and mid-square slot (MS-DGS) method is implemented in the ground plane to improve the performance of MSSG-Patch antenna. A vector network analyzer was used to measure the output characteristics of a prototype of the manufactured antenna.
