Abstract:

Garbage overflowing is a most common issue which is noticeable in major places. This affects the environment and the livelihood of the people nearby. In an attempt to reduce this issue, an IoT based device is designed. By connecting the Wi-Fi module and an Arduino UNO to any Dustbin to provide the garbage level details and a few precautionary measures in case of fire and rain. In this system, When the garbage inside the bin attains its full capacity, a notification will be sent to the authority for further actions to be taken to empty the bin. A fire detection system is set up with the aid of MQ2 sensor to alert the authority in case of sudden fire in or around the bin. A rain detecting sensor is used to detect the presence of water (rain) around the bin. The sensor detects the presence of rain and indicates the same, so that the bin can be closed when the information is received. A sensor is placed outside the bin to alert when garbage is thrown outside the bin. All the aspects make converts the normal bin into smart bin which will be very helpful to dispose the waste on time and protect the people from disease.
