Explicit Analytical Approach for Electromagnetic Modeling of Arbitrary Pole Pair Induction Machines

In highly dynamic vehicle operation, the parameter of induction machines change significantly depending on the operating point. Furthermore, faulty machine behavior or aging effects cause parameter changes and asymmetric behavior. In order to save test bench capacities, these issues must be adressed by a corresponing simulation model. Simultaneously, comparatively short computation time is neccessary. The mentioned requirements are handled by a three phase analytical approach modeling stator and rotor windings explicitly. Arbitrary pole pairs are considered simplified using a newly proposed approximation function in magnetic transition areas. Iron losses and different machine faults are modeled according to known approaches. A real machines extended parameter set is used for model parametrization. Simulative validation is done by comparison to a commonly known model. Eventually testbench results show, that the proposed model is well suited for modeling the real machine. In future work the proposed model is used to improve development process of online parameter identification algorithms for aging or faulty induction machines.
