Regulation of streamer discharge in Packed bed DBD for CO2 utilization

As a new type of chemical energy storage technology, non-thermal plasma CO
2
catalytic conversion has the advantages of high product economic value, compact reactor structure, rapid start-up and easy industrialization, which can realize the resource utilization of CO
2
and the absorption of renewable energy at the same time. Packed bed dielectric barrier reactor is the most common non-thermal plasma generator. In this reactor, the characteristics of catalytic surface gas discharge is an important factor affecting the catalytic reaction, but its regulation mechanism is still unclear. Therefore, a new method for controlling streamer discharge on catalytic surface is proposed in this paper. The dielectric rod is used as catalyst carrier, and the discharge characteristics of streamer discharge are affected by adjusting the diameter and packing mode of the dielectric rods, thus affecting the efficiency of chemical reaction. The results show that the intensity and frequency of streamer discharge are closely related to the packing mode of the dielectric rod. Long streamer discharge can lead to higher single discharge intensity and better CO
2
conversion efficiency.
