Optimal Configuration Method of Carbon Capture Systems in Generation Planning

Carbon capture systems can transform conventional coal-fired power plants into carbon capture power plants with lower carbon emissions. Based on the analysis of the operational characteristics of carbon capture power plants, the model for the two configuration options of carbon capture systems at the planning level is established. Incorporating carbon capture systems into the generation planning model and giving full consideration to the environmental and economic factors, an optimal configuration method of carbon capture systems is proposed. The effectiveness and practicality of the method are verified by taking the generation planning scheme of a provincial power grid in 2025 as an example.
