Reasch on Insulation Modification of Overhead Bare Wires online by Room Temperature Vulcanized Silicone Rubber

Overhead bare wires are widely used in the early transmission lines construction, while wires with insulated coating instead of bare wires are becoming a new goal of urban distribution network construction, which is more safe and stable. Replacing bare wires with insulated coating wires directly is of great waste, contrary to energy saving and CO
2
reduction. Herein, a room temperature curing coating material was prepared, which can insulate bare wires online. The products have a dielectric strength greater than 20 kV/ mm and tensile strength greater than 3.5 Mpa. Moreover, the suitable curing time make it easily construction and hydrophobic property make it corrosion resistance. The insulation coating meets online insulation transformation requirement of overhead bare wires and reduce waste caused by repeated construction.
