An On-line Fault Diagnosis Method for Winding Deformation of Distribution Transformers

Aiming at eliminating the need to install online monitoring devices, an on-line fault diagnosis method of a distribution transformer is proposed. First, according to the electrical parameters provided by the power grid company, an equivalent mathematical model is established by using the theory of power flow calculation, and the voltage at the primary side of the distribution transformer can be obtained. Therefore, on-line detection of internal parameters of a distribution transformer is realized without installing monitoring devices. In order to draw the reactance trend chart, the least square method is used to estimate the value of the short-circuit reactance. Then, using the quartile outlier detection method to predict the health status of distribution transformers. Finally, based on the distribution transformer fault data, the distribution transformer fault diagnosis is simulated, and simulation results verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
