Design and Analysis of PI Controller for Isolated Bidirectional DC-DC Converter

The dual active bridge is an important circuit in a wide range of circuits. Due to its characteristics such as its small size and circulating currents. An isolated bidirectional dc-dc circuit is proposed comprising of a capacitor at the output. This work discusses the performance of the dual active bridge converter with an open loop control and with cascaded control using PI controller. The performance is analyzed using MATLAB Simulink to simulate the results. Results show that cascaded PI control provides better dynamic for the DAB and the accuracy is higher than an open loop or single loop PI controlled system.
