Operation Study of a Bench Compact Gyromagnetic NLTL

There is a great interest in searching for alternative technologies for radiofrequency generation for diverse applications in the academic community. The goal is to develop even more cheap and more simple systems compared to the existing ones. This project intends to reach an alternative way of RF generation in pulsed transmission systems employing a gyromagnetic nonlinear transmission line (GNLTL) for potential space-based applications. In short, the paper´s goal is to present the experimental results using a 60-cm gyromagnetic line to provide RF in the GHz range using solenoid or permanent magnets for axial magnetic bias on a testing bench. Finally, the paper discusses the influence of the voltage source and the axial bias on the output signal with the ferrite rings operating in saturation state during the current pulse application, besides the pulse modulation analysis for both bias sources.
