Efficient Vector Interpolation Method Based on Lebedev Quadrature for MLFMA

In this letter, an efficient vector interpolation method based on Lebedev quadrature to accelerate the matrix-vector multiplications in far-field regions for the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) is presented. This approach avoids the singularity on sphere poles in the traditional interpolation method based on Gaussian quadrature and maintains the same accuracy without increasing computational costs. As a consequence, both memory consumption and processing time can be reduced considerably, providing a viable alternative to solve large-scale electromagnetic scattering problems using MLFMA.
