Abstract:

As part of the work, the main causes of violations in the Russian power grid complex are assessed and one of the key causes that leads to a sufficiently large number of accidents, namely wind loads, is identified. The analysis of the design documentation and requirements that were put forward earlier and are currently being used to account for wind speeds and their impact on overhead power lines. The analysis of climatic characteristics with various probabilities of their non-exceeding (recurrence periods) is carried out on the basis of empirical integral probability distribution functions and their approximation using the first Gumbel limit distribution for the period 1981–2020. This assessment was carried out for the territory, which is characterized by different climatic zones in terms of wind pressure - Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. A comparative assessment of the actual and predicted probability of accidents on overhead power lines based on Weibull integral function curves has also been formed.
