An Excutable Model for Student Registration System using Timed coloured Petrinets

This study developed and simulated a model for student's registration process using Time Colored Petri Nets (TCPN). Data necessary for simulating the model were collected from the actual system for two hours in three days and analyzed using Arena software. Simulated results showed that the students' average queuing time was 24.57, 9.26, and 13.35 minutes. Also, Attendants' average utilization rates in minutes for the three days were 0.817, 0.849, and 0.855 respectively. Validation of the model was done using statistical analysis (T-test) of the simulated and actual number of students' flow in and out of the system. The results revealed that there were no significant differences between the simulated and actual data. Hence, the research showed that the developed model could serve as a reference model for studying student registration systems.
