Design and Implementation of Guide System for High-Speed Maglev Train

As an advanced development direction of rail transportation technology, the high-speed maglev transportation has the advantages of non-contact wear, fast operation, environmental protection, safety and reliability. The lateral stability of the guide system guarantees the safety of the train. In This paper, the design and realization of a guide system for high-speed maglev train are introduced. Firstly, the structure of guide system is designed in detail. Then the magnetic field of the guide system, including the electromagnet and the guide rail, is simulated and calculated using the finite element analysis software. The electromagnetic characteristics of the guide electromagnet are discussed, and the electromagnetic field distribution is analyzed. Finally, simulation and experimental test show that variations of the electromagnetic force with the current are coincident during loading process. It indicates the effectiveness of the design for guide system of high-speed maglev train. The study lays the foundation for further complex dynamic analysis of the guide system.
