Modified Beveled Shaped Superwideband Monopole Antenna

A superwideband (SWB) antenna with and without band notch feature is presented in this paper. The superwideband performance is achieved by using microstrip line fed modified radiator and modified defected coplanar waveguide fed (CPW) ground plane. A half wavelength long C-shaped back conductor is embedded at the back side of the radiator and feed line to reject satellite downlink band centred at 7.35 GHz. The operating frequency range without band notch characteristics for this antenna is 4.1-51.97 GHz. In case of band notch characteristics, the operating band is 4.1-51.31 GHz with rejected band of 6.9-7.8 GHz. This antenna has dimensions of 0.27 λ
