Sequentially Rotated Stacked Microstrip Patch Antenna Array at Ku Band for Satellite Applications

The proposed paper presents designing of left hand circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna array at Ku band for satellite communication. Stacking in this configuration enhances the bandwidth, and array configuration provides larger directivity. Approximate 20% return loss bandwidth and greater than 14dBi gain can be achieved using proposed technique. Truncations on patches give circular polarization. Feeder network is connected on back side to overcome the effect of spurious rations and cross polarization. To reduce the amount of cross polarization, cross pol suppressor is used in the proposed work. The design procedure is discussed.
