Compact CPW Fed Nonagonal UWB Antenna

An ultrawideband modified nonagonal monopole antenna is investigated in this paper. The antenna comprises a microstrip line fed pentagonal fractal stub loaded nonagonal radiator, modified coplanar ground plane and rectangular back conductor. It is operating over a wide frequency range of 3.08 GHz to 19.68 GHz (for
$VSWR\leq 2$
). The overall volume of the proposed antenna is
$0.26\lambda_{L}\times 0.32\lambda_{L}\times 0.016\lambda_{L}$
at 3.08GHz. The proposed antenna has a peak gain of 5.1 dB and radiation efficiency of 90% along with nearly omnidirectional H-plane radiation patterns.
