Design of an Ultra-Low Power CMOS ADC using Threshold Inverter Quantization for Communication System

The Analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is primarily used for conversion. It fills up the gap between the analog physical world and the digital logical world. The mitigation in channel length needs a low power and low voltage ADC for faster conversion. In this paper, a 5 Bit Flash ADC with multiplexer as a code converter is designed which has the high speed and low power. The high speed is achieved by threshold inverter quantization (TIQ) method. CMOS technology using tanner EDA design tools with overall system voltage is 1.8 V. The comparison has been carried out among for various ADC. The key metric parameters have been estimated for different ADC. The proposed ADC outperforms than its counterparts.
