Electro-Mechanical Performance Analysis of Mechanical Properties of 42crmo Steel Treated with Traditional & Ept Method

In this present work, Author takes up the experimentation in terms of heat treatment on 42CrMo carbon steel and by virtue of the outcome of thermal treatment on mechanical properties of and microstructure. This study further gratifies the comparison of various heat treatments along with electro-pulsing treatment (EPT) on steel. By employing the conventional thermal treatment and electro-pulsing treatment on 42CrMo steel, the developments on the material properties like hardness, toughness, tensile strength, compressive strength, and torsional strength has been monitored and the improvement in terms of micro-structure has been figured out. The outcomes manifested that the electro-pulsing treatment comes up with refined grains and micro-structure of 42CrMo along with higher ductility, strength and hardness.
