Design of Intelligent Water-Air Combined Mattress for Preventing Pressure Injuries

Pressure injuries have become the difficulty and pain point of medical care. To this end, our team designed an intelligent water-air combined mattress to prevent it. The mattress comprises a pressure cushion, a water cushion and an air cushion layer from top to bottom. The water cushion includes water circulation system and heating device. Through the connection and disconnection of the drainage pipeline, the pressure at the local pressure point can be reduced. Constant temperature regulation further reduces the occurrence of pressure injuries. The air cushion layer is used to realize odd and even cycle charging and discharging, achieve the effect of alternating fluctuation, and drive the water cushion at the same time. The pressure pad is placed at the top of the mattress to monitor the pressure generated by the human body on the mattress. When the pressure increases, the mattress automatically triggers the above functions to achieve the effect of preventing pressure injuries.
