Design and Implementation of 24GHz Series Fed Microstrip Antenna Array for Automotive Radar

As the key sensor of vehicle active safety and future driverless, automotive radar has attracted much attention. As a key device in the radar system, the radiation performance of antenna plays an important role in the system performance and overall cost of vehicle mounted radar. In order to obtain accurate detection target, low sidelobe level(SLL) of antenna is also necessary. In this paper, a series fed microstrip antenna array for automotive radar range is designed. The patch width is adjusted according to Chebyshev distribution to meet the requirements of low SLL. The test results are basically consistent with the simulation. In the 24GHz- 24.25GHz frequency band, the antenna Gain is greater than 14.5dBi and the SLL is greater than 20dB.
