Formation of Microwave Solitons Trains Due to Modulation Instability Under Cyclotron Resonance Interaction of Initially Rectilinear Electron Beam with Backward Electromagnetic Wave

In recent years, a significant progress has been made in generation, amplification and nonlinear conversion of ultrashort microwave pulse through the new effects based on the analogies with optical phenomena [1]. In particular, in [2] the possibility of conversion of a CW signal into a sequence of short pulses by means of resonant interaction with a moving backward beam of unexcited cyclotron oscillators was demonstrated. In this process, each pulse can be interpreted as a soliton of self-induced transparency.
