Simulation on Anti-Islanding Protection of Distributed PV Inverter Based on RT-LAB and Smart TTU Device

In view of the situation that it is difficult to evaluate the effectiveness of islanding protection after distributed photovoltaic (PV) connected to rural distribution network, a criterion for islanding detection based on the offset of harmonic voltage and frequency was proposed, which was applied to the smart Transformer Terminal Unit (TTU) in low voltage transformer area. The laboratory power hardware-in-loop (PHIL) simulation platform was built to verify the anti-islanding protection function of a 10kW distributed PV inverter. Then, based on RT-LAB, a typical rural network in Northern Hebei was built to evaluate the effectiveness of the anti-islanding protection of inverter under different working conditions.
