Cloud-Cluster Hierarchical Dispatch for Large Scale Demand-Side Distributed Resources

Demand-side resources become an alternative solution for the flexibility and reserve capacity of the power system. To exploit the flexibility inside large-scale demand-side distributed resources, a cloud-cluster hierarchical dispatch framework is proposeed in this paper. The day-ahead dispatch framework is intended to overcome the the dimension curse that occurred in the centralized dispatch of the large-scale distributed resources and the complex communication network of distributed optimization. The resources are divided into several clusters and the cluster calculate the response curves. The cloud computing center collects the information from the clusters and selects the optimal response curve of each cluster. Case studies based on a group of distributed resources are conducted to validate the effectiveness and the satisfactory calculation efficiency of the proposed model.
