A New Comprehensive Planning Method of Transmission Network with Various Functional Attributes

With the gradual development of power system, more forms of functional attributes are appearing, which have different requirements on the topology, security and reliability of the power system. Based on the feature of present power system, this paper considers four different functional attributes to comprehensively plan the transmission network, which are renewable energy accommodation, load center which is insufficient power supply, hydropower generation profit, as well as channel association. Firstly, various scenarios of renewable energy and load are conducted by adopting K-means++ clustering algorithm. On this basis, a comprehensive planing model for transmission network is developed in consideration of the four different functional attributes. Finally, the simulation is conducted by Matlab and PSD-BPA in the modified IEEE-18 transmission network, which strongly verifies the proposed planning model renders high effectiveness and robustness.
