Modeling and Control of Photovoltaic Hydrogen Production System Adapting to Power Fluctuations

Aiming at the problems of photovoltaic (PV) generation power fluctuation and light abandonment, the model and control strategy of PV hydrogen production system are proposed in this paper. A mathematical models of PV cell, buck converter, and proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer (PEMWE) are established. To improve the efficiency of the PV hydrogen production system, the Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control is proposed for the PV hydrogen production system by the conductivity increment method. The effectiveness of the proposed photovoltaic hydrogen production system and the proposed control method is verified by simulation.
