Sectionalizer-Recloser Feeder Automation Method Based on 5G Communication

Most of the faults of the power system occurs in the power distribution network, but the automation degree of the power distribution network is not high at present. In this paper, based on the traditional sectionalizer-recloser feeder automation, a reclosing control method of a power distribution network based on 5G communication is proposed. The method adopts 5G communication technology and uses network slicing technology to realize the information exchange between nodes in the power distribution network via peer-to-peer communication. Edge Gateways are adapted to mobile edge computing for power distribution networks. Several detailed examples are presented as to how to implement the method for the typical power distribution system. The analysis of several typical cases shows the method can improve the fault isolation speed and reduce the number and time of the outage.
