Review on Modeling and Optimal Scheduling in Integrated Energy Systems

Building a low-carbon, clean, safe and efficient modern energy system can help implement the energy development strategy in the 14th Five-Year Plan. The integrated energy system includes the production, transmission, storage and distribution of multiple types of energy, which can effectively make up for the lack of independent planning of various energy systems such as electricity, gas, cooling, and heating, and also effectively optimize and coordinate the use of multiple energy sources to improve energy efficiency. However, because the district energy system has the characteristics of multivariable, non-linear and time-delay, and the district heating or cooling system is independent of the power system, the dynamic modeling of the system is difficult to be compatible and the operation of heterogeneous energy systems is difficult to coordinate. This study focuses on comprehensive energy system modeling and optimal dispatch. First, the advantages and disadvantages of various modeling methods are compared. Second, the current research status of integrated energy system optimal dispatch is summarized. Finally, several suggestions are given for further research.
