Modeling and Simulation of the Grid-Connected Raft-Type Wave Energy Conversion System

This paper describes a fully coupled simulation model of a grid-connected raft-type wave energy conversion system. The three-stage energy conversion and the detailed mechanism model of raft-type wave energy converter (WEC) are studied. Based on the mathematical models of motion equation, hydraulic power take-off system (PTO), generator and controller, the model of the grid-connected raft-type wave energy conversion system is established via Simscape and Simulink software. And the co-simulation analysis is carried out. The feasibility of the model design and the effectiveness of the system controller are verified by the simulation results, which provide a basis for the subsequent system design and later optimization.
