An Adaptive Virtual Inertia Control Strategy on Voltage Regulation of DC Microgrid

Due to the high proportion of power electronic devices, DC microgrid has small inertia. The DC voltage is sensitive to sudden load changes, new energy output fluctuations, and system failures. The virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control enables the inverter to operate synchronously in the AC system, which increases the inertia of the system and improves the frequency stability of the AC system. In order to make better use of the potential inertia of the DC microgrid, we analogy the relationship between AC and DC system variables and propose a DC microgrid voltage regulation strategy based on adaptive virtual inertia (AVI). The DC microgrid provides flexible dynamic inertia support to reduce DC voltage fluctuations. Finally, a six-terminal DC microgrid simulation model was established in MATLAB/Simulink to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control strategy.
