Void Fraction Measurement Based on Flow Noise Decoupling and Differential Pressure

Void fraction is essential for calculating the mixture density of the two-phase flow and the friction pressure drop and analyzing the flow state in the pipe. It is difficult to measure the void fraction of gas–liquid two-phase flow due to the complexity and variability. A new sensor measurement system is designed based on acoustic emission technology and long throat Venturi meter. The flow noise is separated by using empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and decoupled from the perspective of energy change and entropy. A new fusion correlation of void fraction is proposed by using differential pressure measurement theory and integrated learning, which is suitable for stratified, slug, and plug flows. Laboratory results show that the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) for the fusion measurement model is 12.03% and 93.94% of the predictions are within 25% deviation.
