A Survey of Data Mining Methods for Early Prediction of Students' Performance

The early prediction of students' performance is a very challenging and rewarding task. Solving this problem will enable the educational institution to plan the strategic intervention before students reach the final semester. In recent years, many researchers have extensively studied this topic many techniques based on data mining have been proposed and improved for Students' performance prediction. This paper aims at providing a comprehensive overview of the most recent advances in this field. Our main objective in this survey is to produce an overview of data mining techniques that have been studied by many researchers about predicting student's performance, also focusing on how these methods have been used then identify the effectiveness attributes and features that can affect data mining process.
