Design and Implementation of Automated Aquaponic System with Real-time Remote Monitoring

Aquaponics is the unification of aquaculture and hydroponics in a single system. The cycle of dispensing fish excreta as supplement food for the plant growth and the nutrients emanated from those plants passing back to the fish in the aquarium as its food will continuously take place. The intention of this project is to develop an aquaponic system with a real-time remote monitoring system by using Arduino IDE platform, ESP8266-NodeMCU as a controller and numerous sensors to control various parameters through the Internet of Things. All sensors are combined together to check the temperature, pH values in the fish tank, while the auto feeder plays a major role to sustain growth and survival. Ultimately, the adjustments are made to maintain the whole process with the help of the controller that acts as a memory bank by collecting the data from all the sensors and taking actions accordingly. An alert and notification unit is integrated with the system to warn the user via an application whenever the values fall off their optimal levels.
