Research on Arc Energy Release Characteristics of Live Working in Low-Voltage DC Distribution

When live working is implemented on 0.4 kV DC distribution equipment, it may occur electric arc accident due to accidental contact by operators. If safety protection is not in place, it may cause damage to the operators. In view of this, in order to find out the variation law of heat, sound and light energy release intensity of the live working arc in 0.4 kV DC distribution, this paper designs an arc energy release characteristic test. Then the relationship between arc heat release, measuring distance, duration and short-circuit current is obtained by using curve-fitting method. It provides the basis for the safety protection strategy of low-voltage operators. Furthermore, the hazard degree of heat energy, light intensity and sound pressure are comprehensively analyzed, and the corresponding protection methods are proposed.
