Pre-Installation Analysis via “PVsyst” & “HOMER Pro” to Design & Simulate a 50kWp Solar Grid-Tied PV System for Rural Area Electrification, India

in India, there are many countryside’s are present, with insufficient availability of the electrical energy to satisfy the community load requirements. Limited availability of grid, load dispatching strategy and poor implementation of governing policies are some of the main reasons for energy crisis in rural zones in India. Due to unbalance between supply and demand of energy, growth of those regions are still in standstill condition, from socially and economically point of view. Recently, a study of an optimal sizing and shading analysis with placements capacity of 19.2 kW rooftop PV systems for residential purpose has been completed. In this study, a simulation based design and sizing of a photovoltaic (PV) grid connected system having capacity of 50kWp for energization of 100 habitations is proposed by using PVsyst program for village-Pathrouta, Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, performance analysis for 30 years of life cycle is given for the proposed system in next segments of this paper. The coordinates of the site are 22.57°N & 77.79°E respectively. The performance ratio (PR) is 74.58 % for the proposed methodology due to fixed tilt angles i.e. 26°. Further, comparative analysis by considering fixed and seasonal tilt angles for proposed grid-tied PV system is examined for the selected site. Analysis of CO2 emission information for suggested approach is also described in this study. Based on analysis it is found that, the suggested design of on-grid photovoltaic system is reliable, eco-friendly and has the potential to fulfill the required load demands of the village-Pathrouta.
