Data analysis and Machine learning For Energy Monitoring System

The total electricity generation by solar PV is about 2.68% of total electricity generation. In future, Solar power will contribute to larger extent. The Oil and fossils fuel will not last for long since we have limited amount of fossils fuel. There is enormous amount of energy generated from the sun which we can utilize to generate electricity from the sun in the form of solar energy. For this purpose, solar PV is installed in Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysore. This solar PV is integrated with the grid. Jupyter notebook is used for the analysis and performing machine learning on the data retrieved from the sensor. Daily power generation graph, Monthly generation curve, Yearly generation curve (20172021), Frequency distribution, Voltage variations and Temperature variations with respect to time is plotted, and results are also discussed. For predicting the energy generation from solar PV, Random Forest Regression algorithm is used. Also, how to select machine learning algorithm for the problem is discussed.
