Petrel Long Range AUV development

At present, Petrel long-range AUV has a design range of 2000 kilometers and a maximum operating depth of 1250 meters. It is a long-range underwater vehicle for acoustic applications. Recently, Petrel long-range AUV completed the first long-term sea trial, and successfully collected a variety of data such as marine background field noise data, temperature and salt field data, ocean current data, and so on. This paper described how we deal with the design problem of acoustic long-term observation. Content mainly included the mechanical parts including structure, silencing pool test. Recent engineering test results were introduced and discussed the tasks and the future development plan.
