An Analytical Approach for the Generation of Second-Order Floquet-Bloch Mode for Anomalous Reflection Using Metagratings

A novel analytical technique for the excitation of second-order Floquet-Bloch mode with the elimination of all other higher and lower order modes is proposed using a metagrating configuration. The structure has been designed using a periodic configuration of unit cells consisting of a single conducting wire loaded with SMD capacitor. The proposed theory has been validated by comparing the electric fields obtained from the analytical model and the CST simulation at two different reflection angles.
