Wireless Power Transfer on Human Arm for Future Body Area Network

With the fact that the wearble devices will be very common in the future, charging such devices becomes essential. We propose a wireless power transfer (WPT) system to transfer power to these wearable devices, in order to at least able to transmit the rescue signal in the case of no power or continuous charge. Here, the real arm model of a Chinese female is built, and one antenna is put on the elbow to charge the antenna on the upper arm close to the deltoid. The interaction between the arm and the antenna is investigated, including the matching, the channel characteristics, the pattern, the specific absorption rate (SAR), and the transmission efficiency.
